Portlandia -- The Arrival

I'm in Portland, Oregon for the rest of this week for the Photolucida Portfolio Reviews Festival.  A few months ago, I was accepted to the reviews for Atlanta Celebrates Photography.  Photolucida is the same concept on a much, much larger scale.  ACP reviews are a single day event, including a portfolio walk.  The Photolucida reviews last for four days.  Which, at the moment, to me means four times the panic and the I'm-not-worthy-what-the-hell-was-I-thinking moments.

Her First Concert

My daughter and I went to a concert the other night.  We saw Janet Jackson at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.  It was the first chance I've had to see Janet and Kesi's first concert ever.  I don't go to too many concerts because of the cost and because I'm generally not a fan of crowds in enclosed spaces.  But this was Janet Jackson.  I've missed so many chances over the years to see her shows, either because I was a broke student or I because I was working.  I decided to spend the money, thinking I'd take my husband.  He wasn't interested in going (unless I had backstage passes-- there is no way I'd let him get that close to Miss Jackson).  So, I decided to take Kesi. I'm not sure who was more excited, me or my daughter.
