I have just wrapped up a busy two-week vacation. We never left the state, but there was plenty here to do. The first week was divided between going to exhibits and events for the National Black Arts Festival, and taking my kids to their chosen day camps.
This past weekend, I spent quite a bit of time in the city, more than I usually do if I'm not working. I wanted to do some street photography. I even managed to talk my husband into coming with me. We headed out to a festival called Atlanta Streets Alive. On the way, we ran across another event called Rock and Ride.
My daughter and I went to a concert the other night. We saw Janet Jackson at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. It was the first chance I've had to see Janet and Kesi's first concert ever. I don't go to too many concerts because of the cost and because I'm generally not a fan of crowds in enclosed spaces. But this was Janet Jackson. I've missed so many chances over the years to see her shows, either because I was a broke student or I because I was working. I decided to spend the money, thinking I'd take my husband. He wasn't interested in going (unless I had backstage passes-- there is no way I'd let him get that close to Miss Jackson). So, I decided to take Kesi. I'm not sure who was more excited, me or my daughter.
