I have just wrapped up a busy two-week vacation. We never left the state, but there was plenty here to do. The first week was divided between going to exhibits and events for the National Black Arts Festival, and taking my kids to their chosen day camps.
Saturday Afternoon Street Fairs
This past weekend, I spent quite a bit of time in the city, more than I usually do if I'm not working. I wanted to do some street photography. I even managed to talk my husband into coming with me. We headed out to a festival called Atlanta Streets Alive. On the way, we ran across another event called Rock and Ride.

My pictures are up at the restaurant. Thursday night went pretty well, I think. I talked to one staff member who's interested in buying, so that's a good start.
Musicians and Friends
A little more than a week ago, I got a chance to hear a private concert at a friend's apartment. Lee MacDougall is a British singer/songwriter who's doing a 30 day U.S. I've gone to hear friends play at small clubs before, but I'd never been to see an artist I didn't know is such a small setting. My friend Shanna knows the singer's publicist/manager through work. They arranged this concert in her loft when they stopped in Atlanta, on their way to Nashville.
