Last weekend I had the chance to photograph the opening of an exhibit at Atlanta's Hammonds House Museum. The exhibition, called Re-Imagining, is a display of 44 works by female artists in the museum's permanent collection. Three of the artists and the partner of an artist who is no longer with us spoke at the opening reception.
The museum houses artwork of all genres and media by artists of African descent. It's celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. It's located in Atlanta's West End neighborhood. If you have the chance, you should visit.
